CDM ACQUIRES PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS, LTD.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — CDM has acquired Planning and Management Consultants,Ltd. (PMCL-Carbondale, Ill.), enhancing CDM’s resources and service offerings in water resources planning, economic analysis, and information management within both the federal and municipal government sectors. The acquisition and the continued operation of the local office support PMCL’s commitment to bringing high-tech, knowledge-based business to the southern Illinois region.
“We are committed to growing our expertise and developing new service offerings from within,” says Jonathan Curtis, president of CDM Federal Programs Corporation, a CDM subsidiary. “At the same time, we actively seek opportunities to bring in complementary skills and capabilities that meet our clients’ increasingly diverse needs. PMCL has well-rounded expertise in water resources socioeconomic analysis, planning, and information management—areas that fit well with our existing capabilities to allow us to provide the full suite of water resources services,” Curtis adds. PMCL focuses on resource economics, integrated water demand and supply planning, navigation analysis and planning, military water resource planning, environmental resource planning, and information management and programming. Dr. Jack Langowski, president of PMCL, explains that the partnership with CDM will benefit clients because of the two firms’ complementary resources and compatible business philosophies. “CDM and PMCL share a common vision for delivering exceptional client service, technical leadership, and value,” Langowski says. “This move is a logical step that allows us to serve our clients with an even greater range of skills and resources.”
PMCL’s 37 employees—experts in water resources planning and management, economics, programming and systems analysis, and related disciplines—will remain in Carbondale, Illinois, working closely with CDM’s global network of water resources specialists to serve clients worldwide.
