Scope and Schedule for this Work

A team composed of IWR, Planning and Management Consultants Ltd. and the University of Washington is developing the Environmental Database System and the Corps' Environmental Encyclopedia for the Corps Civil Works Policy Division. 

Purpose:  The database system will be oriented towards several priority needs:

·  Program performance evaluation (e.g. GPRA, reports to Congress);
·
  Assessments of specific environmental trends (focused on an environmental category rather than a geographic scope) ; and
·
  Quantitative analysis of specific regional and watershed effects.

The database system will initially be used at the HQ level to meet information requests from the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, Congressional inquiries, program analysis and other national level requests.  

Milestone Dates:

1.      Initial meeting with IWR - September 20, 1999.  Meeting Summary

2.      Mock workshop – November 9, 1999.  Meeting Summary

3.      Presentation of the draft database system. – August 31, 2000

4.      Final Product and Documentation.  – September 30, 2000
